Cicero Epoxy Flooring is an epoxy flooring and concrete coating company based in Cicero, IL, with more than 20 years of experience preparing and finishing concrete floors. We coat garages, basements, shops, kitchens, warehouses and plant floors, and we polish and repair concrete for owners who want the slab itself to be the finished surface.

Most of the floors we see around Cicero are older slabs with history: patched cracks, painted basements, oil-stained shop floors and garages that have taken years of road salt. We like that work, because it rewards doing things in the right order rather than rushing to the color choice.

Our Approach

The grinder wheeled up a ramp into an enclosed trailer in a Cicero alley at the end of a garage floor job.

Every floor we coat is opened with a diamond grinder or a shot blaster, never an acid etch, and every slab is tested for moisture before the price is final. Before quoting, we map the cracks, spalls and old coatings and say plainly when a floor needs repair or replacement first. Our written proposals name the product line, the number of coats and the finished thickness, so you can hold the completed floor up against the paper, and we explain what the warranty excludes, starting with moisture, before anything is sold.

We also try to be straight about what a floor coating cannot do. It will not stop sewer water rising through a basement drain, so we point to backflow valves and drainage first, and it is never sold as radon reduction, which in Illinois is licensed mitigation work. Cure times follow slab temperature and dew point rather than the calendar, which sometimes means telling a customer with an unheated garage in January to wait for warmer weather.

Illinois has no state flooring license, so we check each town’s registration, bond and insurance rules before booking a job. Home projects over the state threshold get a written contract and the Illinois consumer-rights pamphlet before any grinding starts. Products are chosen inside Illinois VOC limits, alley garages are staged from the alley and grinding dust is vacuumed at the machine instead of being washed toward a drain. For factories and warehouses, we phase the work around shifts and use nights and weekends when a line cannot stop.

What We Do

Our services cover epoxy garage floors, flake and metallic epoxy floors, polyaspartic floor coatings and basement floor epoxy for homes, along with commercial, industrial and commercial kitchen flooring and ESD flooring for electronics work. We also handle concrete grinding, concrete floor repair and polished concrete floors.
